Default questions about paint defects

I have a white 05 GT. On one of the edges of the trunk, the paint is not smooth. It looks like there are air bubbles in the clear coat and the paint is rough when I rub my fingers over it. It looks like the white paint didn't mix right with the clear coat when they were painting this one edge. Obviously some sort of paint defect from the factory. Does anyone know if this can be waxed out? buffed out? or do they have to repaint this portion of the trunk. I am taking it in on monday for the first oil change but wanted some opinions from you guys what this may be and/or a solution.

Thanks

Depending if the problem is with the basecoat or clearcot, if the basecoat has bubbles the only fix is to repaint the whole trunk.
If its just the clearcoat they coul sand it down and then apply a new coat of clear.

bring it back to the dealership and have them deal with it. don't attempt it on your own! they've gotta fix it.

yea sucks that you have a new car and the paint comes out like that. it comes out like that because they dont have humans that paint them no more they have machines so flaws come out. like the other people said take it back get them to fix it if its under warrantee. really depends if its in the base or clear like the guy said most likely its the clear that bubbled because if you have painted before you would know that basecoat flashes off like primer does then the clear brings it to life if its bubbled and you try to wetsand it you will probably just bust the bubble then you will see a ring and it woulnt look too good its a 05 so im sure its under warantee take it back and tell them to fix it.
