Default Trying to decide on new color

Well my stang has only been painted for a year and thepaint on the nose is already cracking. It is cracking and peeling in the passenger fog light hole and also next to the driver's side foglight. Plus my blue p[aint on the front is riddled with small chip marks from road debri hitting it. Plus the hatch was not properly aligned and it chipped the paint on the hatch when I shut it one time. And then there is the ever present door ding marks

Well I want to repaint it because I hate having to drive around in a car that does not look good. So I am trying to decide what color I want it to be. I am debating on painting it the color it is now( in my gallery) with sonic blue flames , sonic blue with white pearl "ghost" flames or else painting it a cobalt blue candy. The latter looks black in any light except fro direct sunlight. If I paint it that color I will have to make sure every ding and dent , deep scratch is smooth . If it is not smooth it will draw attention right to that spot and make the car look bad IMO. But I also do a lot of highway driving so it would mean that I will have to find a clear bra to protect the paint. I just cannot decide which color I want.

I have also thought of silver since it is a very forgiving color and does not show imperfections as much as the previous colors would.

hey read your post really depends on what you want. if you want to change the whole color of the car you would have to do the jams and the trunk and under the hood to make it really look like thats the paint that belongs on the car. because if you just do the outside then open the doors or hood and under that is red and the outside is silver you will know its been painted. now as for silver its a great color to hide things like dents etc. your piant probably cracked from some idiot that made $7 a hour in a body shop that could care less the way he sanded it believe me. then if you paint it you better expect it to get hit with rock etc when your driving it on the street. I got the concept thru my head that you will never be able to keep something flawless if you drive it on the street. either something will tear it up or someone will tear it up for you in a parking lot etc. i painted my 92 lx chromalusion which the paint was $1200 alone and i did it myself but if you took it to a body shop they would want $6000 or so. they do make a flex additive for the rubber bumpers covers when you spray over them i know dupont does. but i dont know how good it will deflect rocks etc. The best paint to probably put on a car if you dont want chips to happen or worry about rocks hitting it is imron paint that stuff is awesome i mean its really nasty to paint i mean the fumes will wanna run you out the booth when you paint it and it will probably kill you if you painted it for 20 yrs its that bad. but it takes some time to dry but when it does its like you could take a handful of pebbles and throw it at the front end of the car and it wont chip it they usually paint this stuff on tractors and all because they are on the road so much. might be a little more expensive then regular paint but its worth it. but im not sure if you can use say a dupont regular basecoat then use a imron clear over the regular base. imron was made different so i dont know if that will work but i know imron is probably the best for that kinda rock chips and stuff.

Flex additive actually makes the paint not crack only long enough to put it back on the vehicle. It is only good for long enough until the paint is fully cured.
