Default repainting costs???

Does anybody have any ideas how much it would cost to get a hatch repainted?

Well, that depends on how bad of shape your existing unit is. Will you be requiring the surrounding body panels to be blended in, for a uniform look? Will you be taking in only the hatch to the paint shop (minus the rest of the car)?

I recently had the '00 GT in to the shop for another matter. I inquired of the cost for the rear deck (perfect shape except some permenant marker graffiti) repainting cost. My guy ( small shop) said just the rear deck would be $150.00

I was planning on taking only the hatch into the paint shop. I would need the paint on it now stripped and repainted to match the color on my mustang.

Well, now you just interjected that magical price inflating word; the one all painters love to hear....match the existing color.

Won't work unless you leave the car, and allow him to "overspray" to the other body panels.

My guess....double what I just told you.

yea well body shops will use about $20 in paint cause they buy so much bulk at a time. but they will charge you for the labor. just like the guy said if you want the hatch to match the body panels your gonna have to leave it so they can blend it but then they are gonna have to blend into other spots and reclear the car depends if you have base/clear on the car or single stage. most likely they will use single stage cause its faster. but if you want the hatch painted and you dont care if it matches perfect just take that in and get that painted. colors on cars tend to fade over time from sunlight, acid rain etc. so if you have a red car and they paint the hatch red over for you you will probably tell the difference unless they blend it into other panels. its really all up to what you wanna do.
