Default Tinting Windows

Ok, performance is on thing, but looks they kill. I wanna tinti the rear window on my 2000GT, but it has those stupid dots etched in the glass.
So the tint only sticks to the dots not the glass. Do you people know of a way around this, or just tint to the dots and don't go over them.?

My friend who drives a V6 Mustang had his windows tinted and I think they tinted the entire back window. They also put vinyl across the top of the rear window and that covers up the area with the dots so we can't really tell how far up the tint goes. You may try tinting up to the dots and vinyling off the rest.

They tinted over my dots and it looks just fine. Not really noticable at all. The vinyl idea is a good one but still tint over the dots.

Tint up to the start of the black dots and then tape off the tint and cover the back window with newspaper. Then spray the dotted area with a flat black spray paint. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WELL VENTILATED...and put paper down on anything you don't want to get overspray on. PLUS clean the interior afterward...but the effect is awesome...check my pic in the gallery.

The was professional installers do it is they wet sand the dot matrix pattern. This means the difference in height of the dots and the window is reduced, so the tint has a better shot of sticking to the glass. I don't think it cures the problem, but supposedly it helps.

Yep, any professional tinter that knows what they are doing, can either, sand, glue, paint, or use vinyl. Check out the forum and business listing at http://www.findatinter.com. They can answer all your questions for you.

when i got mine done at zeibart they tinted past the dots but when it was all dry i had to take it back and then they painted over the dots and cut the tint straight across
the only problem is that i had my golf clubs in my back seat(truck filled with subs) and the ball retriever scraped the paint and i am going to take it back when i get the side two done
