Default slashed top repair

anyone know a cheap n' easy way to fix a slashed convertible vinyl top beyond actually replacing it? mine is in the shape of a T about 12 inches tall and 8 inches across.
Damn Thief!!! I thought maybe a stitch job with some kind of adhesive vinyl patch would
do the trick and get me through the rains.

thanks

I do think there is a repair kit for them, may want to check out your local auto parts store, or a junk yard for a replacement.

I know it is too late for this piece of advice, but, if you're gonna own a drop top....only lock the doors when the top is DOWN. Never leave anything in the vehicle of value. Never lock the doors when the top is up.

You're gonna have to replace the top anyway. No insurance? Best thing to do is to do it right the first time and fork over the buck-o's for a new top. Anything less will last about ->| |<- that long. Nothing will withstand the tension and stretching and buffeting of 70+ mph wind when the top is up.....nor the bending, folding, tension releasing as the top is folded down.

If you do attempt something, get 3M vinyl adhesive (at the parts store) which is what I've used in a quart can to replace 'vert tops with. Find an old piece of vinyl top and attempt a patch on both the inside and outside.....clamping together with ??? for the hour or so the glue needs to set up. Your local upholstery shop might let you rummage thru their trash for a piece of vinyl, if you promise to give them the job when it is time to do it right. While you're there, get a quote on a complete re-do.
