Default Window Weatherstrip

I recently purchased replacement outer door glass beltline weatherstrips for my 1986 GT convertible. I am unsure how to remove the outside mirrors so I can fit the front edge of the strips under the mirrors. The Chilton manual I have only shows the sedan, however the mirrors mount differently on the conv. I did remove the inside panel which has the manual mirror adj. knob on it, however I still cannot determine how to get the mirrors detached. Sure could use some help!

Default your almost there

With that panel off you will find (use a flashlight to see in there) 2 nuts holding the mirror on. Remove these with a mini socket set ratchet. The cable will still hold the mirror on but you should be able to swing it away to put the w strip on.
