OK, I've been screwed by 2 bodymen, over 2 years, and now $2000 shorter than I was at the beginning of my search to get my car painted, and still have an unpainted 67 Mustang. For the love of god, could some of you guys help me figure out how to get my car painted without beind screwed over?!? You can't trust bodymen, you just can't!

Oh yeah, anyone know how much it would cost me to take one of these jerks to small claims court?

What condition is the car in now? You need to either take it to someone with a good rep or a shop. If the car is worth doing I could set you up as you are close.

I'm in talks now with 4 reputable bodymen(2 own shops). Unfortunately, the one estimate I've gotten so far is $6000 and that's with me already having all of the paints and I have to reassemble the car(which isn't a problem, I'm just saying that the present doesn't include reassembly).

Find a Mustang club in your area and talk to some of those guys. I found a good mechanic and painter through my local club. This way, the guy is familiar with your car too. Hope this helps.

hey im near gurnee illinois and i need to get my 5.0 painted. im new to the forum so i dont know anyone really but i got 900 for paint saved so far. my body is really straight, but there is a few bubbles popping up on the hood and just in 2 other places on the body. my car is emerald green over gray and i basically just want the car all green to match the body.

Well, good luck with getting your car painted, I am going to paint mine myself, I think I can do it and I already got a HUGE air compressor in my garage (cause my father bought it at an auction about 8 months ago), I plan on getting really good at painting and doing some great jobs for people for way less than what proffessional shops offer; since I am at the bottom of the barrel and make minimum wage, a couple grand for weeks worth of work would be like winning the lotto plus I find painting fun... now anyways.
