Was hit and need to fix bumper cover, maybe more I was hit and need to get my bumper fixed and was wondering what you guys thought. Its a 2004 3.8 convertable with Silver (YN) paint.
The bumper has a hile in it on the rear passanger side and is dented in and pushed about 2" down at about a 5-15 degree angle. Mostly on the passanger side. I have a friend that says he can put the bumper cover on and hammer everything back into place thats out of wack and can get the paint done at a shop for a decent price.
I was wondering what you guys thought of hammering the stuff under the bumoer cover "back into place." The damage doesn't look too bad, but there is a metal piece in the wheel whell that looks like its pushed back, there is a metal rod that is very slightly bent where the hole in the cover is and I have no idea what else has happened under the cover.
ps the driver side rear breaks are making a very rough metal scraping on metal sound that didn't start until a week after I was hit. I figured its just the breaks needing to be replaced, but do you think it could be due to the accident even though it didn't start until a week later?
Thanks for the help, I didn't have anyone to teach me about cars/repairs growing up so I am pretty ignorant on the subject compared to you guys, but I have chaged belts, breaks, water pumps and small stuff so I know a little and am learning the rest as I go. So I do appriciate your advise. |
