Default Black Interior Conversion Paint Job Questions?? Help

I have an 89 gt convt. I want to do a black paint conversion. First, is Duplicolor paint ok? I read a few people who have used it said it worked great. I can get it locally and it is cheaper than SEM and some others.

Secondly, they didnt make black interior for 87-89 convt. stangs. So the seatbelts are currently gray. What can i do to get them black? If I paint/dye them, wont it rub off on clothes and be a mess?

Did anyone paint the dash gauge bezel?

Do I have to buy black carpet for the front lower part of the doors, and the lower part of the rear interior quarters on my vert, or is there something that will paint them and look ok?

All tips, steps, brand of paints, brand of clear coat, etc would be appreciated. I will have the rest of my interior out today. I am ready to get this done.

What kind of paint and clear coat did everyone use? Do I need a clear coat?

Thanks guys!

I just painted the interior of my 96 from gray to black. I used the black vinyl spray paint that duplicolor makes and i use the green engine enamel to do some parts of it too. I think it looks ok as long as u take a little time to prep. I used the adhesion promoter, the color, then the truck van and suv clear top coat and just followed the directions for all of them. I am currently trying to figure out how to get the dash all out. R there just a bunch of screws that you have to take out to get the steering wheel and dash apart?
