Exclamation 65 resto...HELP!

Help!
I need to confirm info on a bit of "advice" I have received from my girlfriends father on the resoration of my Mustang. It's in regards to the rust on the unibody. He said that a friend of his told him about a part on the unibody that is extreamly hard to repair (the car needs to be turned over I guess?) and will cost more than it's worth to do. Does anybody have any words of hope for me? I bought this car about 6 years ago, as my first car, and don't want to give it up as a parts car...please advise.

Thanks,

Corey

We have all of the sheetmetal at California Mustang. What is rusted out? Floor boards? Frame Rails? Etc. I have a Austin Healey some guy sold me for $400.00 because someone told him the same thing all it needs is some floor pans. So hold on to hope the 1965 Mustang has just about every part reproduced for it (well the roof is not made) but qrt panels, fenders, rockers, frame rails, floor pans etc...

You can e-mail me at michaelsatterfield@hotmail.com or call me at 1-800-775-0101 I would be glad to help. As for the sheet metal check out www.cal-mustang.com don't junk the car yet.

mike is right...how bad is the rusr? you might just have surface rust, if so, sandblasting and POR15 will work......any repair work that you do for rust, put POR15 on it!

i like to use extend on any rust work i do... it supposedly kills the rust then put the underbody stuff on... nice thing about extend is you can use it anywhere on the car... and paint over it ... never know it was there...

Flipping the car over isnt that big of deal... they make rotiseries to do that... or what i did... prolly not the safest way to do it.. but i build a cradel to hold it... and took a engine hoist ond hooked on with cross bars on the core support... and then put a rod in the gas tank hole... and picked up and spun it... then set it in the cradle... worked real well.. but prolly dangerous... but u also have to strip everything out of your car... motor tranny and all...

You may not have to flip the car over a good body shop can get it done. Get some quotes (with you providing the parts.)
