Just bought a Toro 215 mph leaf blower #51591. Amazing results! The car was dry in no time. I'll never use towels or the absorber again! I'm sure the layers of Zaino helped a lot, but the water just shot off of the car. Really something.
...doesn't that spew a lot of dust/grass/leaf chunks back onto the car again? Wouldn't that be the same as driving through a dust storm and making the car dirty again?

I go over the drive with the blower and then drive the car out of the garage. I try to be very careful not to aim at the drive in any way. I agree with you that it would be a mistake to let any dirt or grit from the concrete drive to be blown up on the car.
I used a Craftsman blower and it worked quite well. My advice, though- If you do try using a leaf blower, make sure that nobody used it as a vacuum first.
Crap gets stuck in the turbines and gets thrown out at high speeds.
With a blower, one must be very careful not to blow dirt, dust , twigs, or grass back on tot he car. Also, when using a blower to dry the car, one must wathc out for water run marks. Usually more noticeable on dark cars like black. If careful, it does not happen often, but it only takes once to ruin a great wash.
I use the squeegee. Got mine from Pep Boys but seen it at diff places. It gets the water off right away and you don't have to unroll/roll up the elec cord. I like the synthetic chamois to clean up the water spots cuz it makes me put my hands on the car close so I can feel dings (gulp) and see paint chips (OuCh!).

I'd do it but I think I would find enjoyment in washing my car :] Thats just me though.
oh and washington has a big problem with dirt, rocks and leafs just flying everywhere, so I would probably clean off my drive-way just for a bunch of leafs or twigs to fall off the huge tree just before I blow-dry my car and then I would scratch the paint or something.
For years I have used a blower on my air compressor hose, and blew the water out from around the door handles, mirrors, trunk lines, etc., then did the wipe down.
That way when I shut the door, I don't get the annoying drips of water down the side of the vehicle.
Blowing the water off also works well on the diamond tread toolbox !!!!!!!
