Dying halo headrests.

I have red halo style headrests on my 86 ragtop and they are pretty beat up from the sun. The only replacements I've been able to find are black. Has anyone successfully dyed these to match. I want to keep the stock interior. Where can I find the dye?

I have used dye that I picked up from pep boys called (spelling) melecubond it is what ford uses on the line to touch up interior. I did my door panels and seats in my 1990 Mustang. The door panels were blue and the seats were white they came out great and you could not tell it was dye.
