I just used Zaino this weekend for the first time. Although I thought it was a bit pricey, due to the reviews and raves on here, I thought I'd give it a shot. So far, so good. I'm not finished with it yet, but I'm impressed with the results already.
Post#4 – ixtlan – I do plan on getting painted racing stripes (maybe 3m graphic stripes). What brand is a high tech waxes / sealers? Is Mothers fall into that category? So what I think I am hearing is, when I get the new car, I should have it painted (stripes I plan) before toying with the high tech waxes. Of course being the car it is being built, the paint will need to cure for 30 to 60 days before waxing. Thanks.
High techs would be like nufinish, silicone based , polymer based just about all those mentioned here. Unless it is a pure Carnuba it would not be a good idea until after you paint. Then by all means go for the HiTechs. Mothers Gold is a pure Carnuba.
All I have to say is that the consumer reports is ignorant reviews. For example, I worked for Turtle Wax for 6+ yrs managing a store and the Ultra Gloss is FAR better than the other Turtle Wax product they show with a better review. Ultra Gloss works great on plastics and leaves no residue. Where do they get their information from?
Ok enough of that.
I use Zaino and love it. One night my garage queen and I were "caught in the rain" and I figured the car would look like crap from the dirty roads, etc. The next morning the car looked like it had just been washed, with the exception of the back of the car where the dirty water had a chance to dry.
I was truly impressed by this and had never seen any other wax on the market perform so well. (I have tried MOST common waxes over the past while comparing various products and testing possible products that Turtle Wax had in R&D.

As I had mentioned in a previous post, my rave about Ziano. Today is proof in the pudding. I switched back to my original hood so I could do some more work on my "dream hood." The first thing I noticed was the lack of dust on Colton after sitting in the barn the last couple days. Second was how rough the original hood feels compared to the rest of the car that has Ziano on it. I will be hard pressed to try any other product. I'm sold on Ziano.
1976 mi. Have not driven since the midnight cruise. Insurance is suspended on it at this time as well - only have comp right now.
I hope my wife is enjoying her maternity leave.

I just start her up once every 10 days or so to charge up the battery and run the a/c compressor. Each month it sits gets me one month closer to a s/c whether I drive it or not.
Wait... are we off topic?

As usual, yes, nothing like a can of Simonize.

Topic has been closed, Zaino the winner?
Anything goes now, lol.
I have tried Mothers, and Black Magic on my truck to experment and it is hard to tell the difference between the 2 waxes and both parts came out beautiful smooth and shiny The truck is new so it started with a great shine. I will buy a bottle of Zaino and try it also. Any specific of type name Zaino?
Thanks
Many people DO like carnauba based waxes, BUT they may leave more of a haze and they do NOT last as long as syn polymers do when combating the elements or several washes.
