Mineral Spirits on a rag will work. I have also used rubbing alcohol. With both just don't soak the rag and use patients and elbow grease.
For old grayed plastic: 2 products I have used are "Back to Black" and "Black Magic". Both acctually put a dry seal coat, they are not paint or dye. armour all and etc just makes things sticky and worse.

What is the easiest way to get wax residue off the black plastic mouldings??..it is turning the black to grey. I have struggled with this problem for years. Anyone have a simple answer??
As mentioned previously, you can clean it or use a dressing. I use Back-to-Black, and it works pretty well unless the trim is really old and oxidized.
Tip of the day: apply a dressing before you wax -- leave it wet -- and it'll make your life a lot easier. When you're done waxing, buff the trim and most wax splatter will come right off.

I bought Wet Obsession Paste Wax from Obsessive Detail and cannot wait to detail the car this spring... I've seen results from other users and am extremely anxious!

I have always waxed, polished, ect.. my cars by hand does any one on here use a buffer with any luck and if so what type. I'm sure by hand is better but much more time consuming. Thanks
