Get yourself some White Vinegar at the grocery store. You can dilute it or use it straight out of the bottle on a soft rag. Will not hurt your paint and the water spots come right off. Your car will smell like a salad
until you wash and wax
I drove my 5.0 back to Joliet. Ill. in 99 for the World Ford Challenge. Being a BLK car it looked aweful when we got there from San Diego. I had one day to get it back to Car Show Condition & had a Magazine Shoot to boot! Took the car down to the local do-it yourself and the water that came out of the wand was so hard I thought it was going to break a window. The car was 10 times worse and had white, super hard water spots all over it. I was so screwed. My friend Wayne that was with me on the trip suggested the vinegar and I looked at him like he was nuts. His reply was, "you got a better idea"? So off he went to pick up a big bottle of the stuff. Long story short, IT WORKED LIKE A CHAMP!! I couldn't believe it. So trust me, when your car gives you water spots, think salad!
