I have painted the plastic bezels and they came allright, but dont use spary can stuff. I used a dupont enamel basecoat and clearcoat.

If you want to also paint or dye some of the vinyl, i can offer no real advice, but i can warn you that i have seen many painted vinyl interiors and not one lasted more than a few weeks before they started peeling. My advice is to buy a high quality dye and test it somewhere.

i used a product called Color Bond on my tonnaeu cover. it's a dye for soft and hard plastic and vinyl. it came out ok. i bent the cover in every way possible and it did not flake or peel off. i also rubbed it with a rag and it did not rub off. the can says it penetrates the vinyl. don't know how long it will last, but for now it looks good. changed the color from gray to black.

Cool

Check my car. 18 photos with my profile. Entire interior (plastic and vinyl) is redone with spray dye, done last March. Photos of interior taken in July. Interior is still perfect. The secret is surface preparation. You must use professional paint surface preparation solvent, available at NAPA, O'Reilly's or CarQuest in a gallon can. Use it generously, but be aware it removes paint, as well as grease, oil, dirt, candy goo, etc. Leave it on your skin and it will remove all the moisture and cause it to peel. Use multiple thin coats - at least 4 - close together, say an hour apart. Follow the directions on the can for the rest. Bad experience with rattle cans is usually due to poor surface prep, especially vinyl. You must use the proper dye for each surface and be sure to buy enough. I sourced at 50Resto. Just my experience and opinion. Get others.
