Default polish/protect "chrome" metalized plastic

whats the best product to use on the "chrome" accents that are painted plastic such as the pony emblem and trim?

If you mean to protect, any good wax should do it. I like Maguires NXT, myself. Many chrome cleaners work well. Many times the "chrome" is actually a layer of aluminum that's atomized and sprayed on the plastic part. So you can also try any cleaners used on aluminum wheels. Just don't go too heavy and it's always a good idea to try a small inconspicuous spot, just to make sure.
By the way, I like your user ID, seems familiar.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.
