Default Cleaning convertible top. Recomendations?

Ok, my '95 GT black convertible top has recently been attacked by bird poop bombs!! Using water and a soft cloth I was able to get just gets the bulk of it off, but you can still see what looks like a stain where the poop was. I don't want to use anything harsh that may hurt or discolor my beautiful top, so I need to know what others have used successfully to clean bird poop and other crap (pun intended) off their tops and what to use periodically to keep it from aging, drying out and faded.

Thanks

Steve

Mother's makes a convertible top cleaner, I have used a couple of times and seems to work for me. If not, use car wash and a mild brush for the tough spots.

I use a product called 303 Convertible Top Cleaner. I had a repair done to my convertible top a few years ago and the top shop recommended this product as well as the companion 303 Protectant. I really like both products and use the protectant on plastic and vinyl interior surfaces and on the plastic headlights.
