Question Car Wash - What is the best?

What is the best car wash you think and why?
I use Dawn because it's cheaper and if it has long term effects please let me know.

I use two car-wash formulas:

Meguiars Gold-Class Car Wash
and
Mother's Car Wash

I like the smell of the Mother's car wash, and both work just as well as the other. However, I've found that the Meguiars GC rinses off easier and suds up like crazy. But, they both leave the car spotless.

Also, the sponge makes quite a difference too. Don't go cheapy; buy a quality sponge and you'll notice that it takes the grunge off faster and with less effort. I've found that a clean microfiber towel works REALLY well, but they are expensive and if any dirt gets trapped you can scratch the surface.

There's TONS of car washes out there, and to be honest, they all do the same thing. It's really the wax that matters.

With Dawn, you're probably removing the wax because it is a dish soap. Dish soap is anti-grease, and wax repels water just like grease. Dawn will definitely get the job done IF you want to rinse forever, but you must make damn well sure you always wax it immediately afterwards. Clearcoat is expensive.

I use only Adams products. Car Wash, Polishes everything. I threw every other product out or gave them to friends.

I use the Mr. Clean Autodry system for the initial clean-up and if I'm feeling up to it, I break out my turtle wax, turtle wax tire shine, and turtle wax interior cleaner to really get my white stang shining

Mequeirs or whatever the hell the name is, then followed by a layer of Turtle Wax ICE. Which works wonders! And you can put it on a car after washing since it applies so nice and easy!

+4 on Meguiars. That stuff is the best IMO. For wax, i only use Mothers Gold and a lot of elbow grease... but the car is immaculate when it's done.

Remember, it is almost impossible for anyone, myself included, to diagnose a problem over the internet without seeing the car. My advice is simply that, advice based on years of experience. I don't want you or anyone taking my word as gospel. I am trying to give some direction as to what I think may be happening.

Yeah, the 2 dollar carwash at walmart is better than dishsoap. Dawn will take the wax right off your car.

I use the meguiars wash, plus their wax. The mothers stuff works pretty well also.

any dishwashing detergent is HORRIBLE for your finish. It will turn it to that ashey looking finish, because it will strip the oils/spirits from the paint, leaving little more than chalk.

I just toss a few quarters in the local pressurized car wash thingamajig and give it a good spray wash, then dry it with a good chamois. I chase it with a coat of wax once every 6 months just so I can see the water bead off for the next two car washes.

I tried one of those Mr CLean Auto Dry Kit gizzmos but the spot-free filters dont last the number of washings they advertise so I stopped using it. Too much hassle.

Once in a blue moon I'll take it through the drive-through car wash but find myself spending the next 15 minutes threatening guys with ICE if they dont stop farting around and dry the car right.

Dish soap is the worst thing that you could use on your finish.

Works if you're just trying to get the last wax job off.
