Default How to install 95 GT Saleen body kit/ Which tape to use?

Recently installed a Saleen Body kit on 95 GT. I'm having a helluva time getting the 2 sided tape to stay on. I've used everything from Acetone and alcohol and the panel keeps popping off. Anyone on have any experience with this? I'm using 3M tape. Is there anything better out there?
Thanks

Default 3M tape

How's it going bro. Well I had the same problem. The double sided tape that comes with the door fillers and side skirts is kinda cheap. I think its the 2 LB. tape. I used the 5 LB. 3M tape which held for years. Make sure you don't handle the tape for too long and clean the surface well. When I got my car repainted I had the body shop screw in the door fillers using 4 screws per door filler and then they set the screws and then they used body filler to fill the holes in. The door fillers are as flush as ever, they don't bow, and you can't even tell they are screwed in and best of all...I don't have to worry about looking like a jerk with a door filler popping off of a freshly painted car. If tape is your only option...get the 5 LB tape. This is the one thing Saleen should have thought harder about for 94-04.

5lb is the way to go! Held the kit on my old 'Stang on no problems and is currently holding the louvers on my '86 on with no issues.

The 5 lb is it. You'll have a hard time taking them off in the future.

Default Installing Salleen ground effects help: what tape to use?

I was wondering if anyone had any help in what tape to use to install genuine saleen ground effects on a 90 mustang. I have the ground effects and want to install them on my car, but don't know what tape I need to use. I have tried a couple cheep double sided tapes but they don't adhere to the ground effects.
Thanks
Steve

After properly prepping the mating surfaces with lacquer thinner, I'd use some #5 tape from 3M. It's very strong and once on, they're on.

Do you have a part number and where I could get some of the tape?
