You can get it steam clean at a Detailer. I've seen some that charge between 20-50 bucks.

here at work the detail department uses a product called blue juice. and u spray it then, hose it off with no problems. or u can get stuff called jax wax and clean ur engine and spray this stuff on and let it go. make shur u use a oil based product. i know some of my buddies have used wd-40 but i have seen start fires before.
Yeah ive heard of blue juice and simple green, and seen nice results from them. And when i used to detail cars i used to just spray it down with degreaser and hose it off really good. But the only thing is, i dont want to put any water on my engine. Is there another way i can get it all cleaned up without spraying it off with the hose? Like just wiping it down with armor all, etc.

blue juice!! a friend of mine used that stuff for everything. he buys it buy the gallon from detail shops. spray that stuff on and wipe it down and it will look brand new. it smells good too.
Yours will be a challange, but it can be done. Once you get caught up with it, make it a one hour weekend hobby. Simple Green is some good stuff, rags and anything you can use to get into hard to get areas.
I use a product called S100. It is made for motorcycles, which is what I originally used it on. It's a spray on then rinse off and works great on all surfaces. After application I just wipe everything down and then apply the dressings.
i spray mine down with simple green and use the powerwasher after a 10 min soak...then use the air compressor to blow the water off. then its just chrome cleaner windex and then i use no touch on the plastic and rubber....nice
i spray everything down with simple green then powerwash it off..then i use a foaming glass cleaner on the chrome...takes about 20 min. to do entire engine bay
I popped the hood of my husbands cavalier to check the air filter and almost fainted at how dirty it is in the engine bay... I'll be detailing the car hopefully next weekend and I'll take some before and after pics - I'll be using tips found here to clean the engine compartment...
