What's everyone using to clean the oxidation of the aluminum parts of 4.6's? Like the timing cover mainly!

I like simple Green All Purpose in the Green bottle! and a tooth brush! did you remember to cover your alt? and Coil? and starter?

but yes SG DOES SMELL AMAZING!
takes a long time to scrub an engine with a Toothbrush but when your done its WELL worth the effort!

I have used simple green and it works real well. Does not take much scrubbing with that stuff.

Default Getting the engine bay clean.

I know that you aren't supposed to get water into your engine or pour water on your engine after it has been running but I was wondering if I could take my hose to the engine bay and try to clean all of the salt or some of it out of the engine bay. I would do this after like 4 hours of the engine being off for it to have ample time to cool down. If I could get some help that would be nice.

you shouldn''t have to wait that long before washing the engine bay. Usually a power washer at any DIY carwash will get it clean. Just be sure not to aim directly into the alternator, coil, or if you have an exposed air filter element. Other than that just use degreaser and spray the heck out of it
