i spray mine down with orange cleaner and hose off, then wipe off what i missed, then take a rag and apply blackmagic protectant to all my plastic and rubber.
I cover the alternator with a plastic bag, then spray a engine degreaser, after that hit it with the power washer, then use a air compressor to get all the water out, after that i spray the rubber with armer all. looks brand new after its done
Simple Green works GREAT!! Spray everything with SG and let it sit a few minutes. My hose nozzle has several settings. I use the "shower" setting... I always spray with engine cold, in the down direction, that is straight down over the bay, not at an angle... BTW I never dilute the simple green, use full strength out of the bottle. Several SG types to choose from, use the green label that says "all purpose cleaner"..

There was a thread not too long ago - of someone who forgot to remove the plastic bag over their CAI, can't remember if it was here or somewhere else.... just remember to remove the bags when you're done... Good luck, let us know how you made out!!

Alright guys, i have a car show coming up 2 weekends from now, and im going to start getting my car ready. Ive seen many car shows and notice how clean their engine is. So my question is, what is they best way to clean your engine without getting it wet? What do you guys do? I really dont wanna put water on it, and i thought about using armor all wipes and just wiping everything down with them, but what will happen to it when the engine gets hot? How well does armor all hold up under heat? My engine isnt that dirty, but hasnt been cleaned since i bought the car. Thanks.
