Default How to polish headlights, 2001 Mustang

My 2001 headlights look like crap with the opaque plastic lens. Does anyone know how to polish these back to "new"?

What I've always done is use some Mother's Mag And Aluminum polish, it'll take a lot of that yellowing that happens right off. The lens is plastic so it can be polished.

Thanks, do I do this by hand or with a polishing wheel on a drill?

i suggest by hand, you do not want to take a chance on burning the plastic.

Mothers does make a plastic polish that works quite well.

For heavy oxidation, an initial cut with Mag & Aluminum Polish works real well. Follow with a plastic polish such as Mothers.

Either one can be used with the PowerBall Mini -- makes the job real easy (wash between products). Mask off the surrounding paint and trim, and open the hood if that helps.

Hi, I am new to the forums, but decided to check and see if I could find an answer to the same question about headlights. I have tried everything, and so far, nothing works. Where do I get this Mothers stuff and how do I go about using it? My headlights are so bad, it's really hard to see at night. I checked with my local dealer, and well, let's just say I like my arms and legs where they are... : ) ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

TOOTHPASTE! I saw it on Horsepower TV and it works amazing! Went into the bathroom, grabbed the ole crest and buffed the headlights with it. I thought it was stupid, but worth a shot. Amazing enough, it worked...cheap too!
