Nothing can replace a traditional waxing. How much work that takes can be either technique or the product being used. I often use Mothers paste waxes for example -- they go on easy, but if you let them dry too hard they're hard to remove. So if you're letting your wax dry rock hard versus to "a haze" then try following the directions.
I still think spray waxes are great as touch-ups or in-between traditional waxings to boost the gloss and extend the time until I need to do a regular wax.
There are some spray waxes that require a "let dry to a haze" step and I don't favor those, but the Mothers spray waxes I like really well as they are more like a heavy duty detailer.
I normally use Meguiars NXT Tech Wax untill I tryed
Meguiars Qwik Wax. The shine is like a mirror. I'll wait to see if the rain washes it off before I invest in more.
Spray wax is great for quick touch ups, or after you wash the car is a nice thing to top it off with, leave a nice shine. But if your waxing for protection and real shine with a smooth feel, you have to use paste wax.

i bought the product to use after a wash not as my regualr wax. i sprayed some meguires detailer on a mircofiber cloth to get it moist and then sprayed the meguires quick wax on the car. i must say it is a great product. very shinny/glossy and has that sexy smooth feel. we'll see how it holds up... im sure the rain will wash it off but thats ok haha
No on the spray wax...at least as a primary wax. I wash with Dawn to clean off any old wax. Then clay bar the car to remove anything else in the paint. Then I will apply multiple coats of Zaino, but use whatever you like. Then I wipe on Zaino Clear Seal. I will use detailer between coats to remove any dust or powder that is left behind between coats. I do this in Spring and Fall.
Spray wax is only for quick touch-ups or to add a nice gloss before a show. But it will not last long.
