Question Spray Wax (not Instant Detailer) Questions, Answers & Information

I've always used paste wax but its a pain in the neck to apply. I keep seeing a commercial for a spray on wax and it looks quick and easy. Has anyone tried this, and are the results any good or is it paste wax or nothing? Thanks for the responses in advance!

I too found it not as shiny as paste wax. Worked great for minor touch ups though!

I for a long time used Fukken Wax, have to order it online though, I usually get 6 cans at a time, lasts me 6-9 months.

I paste wax the car 1x a year, then use Fukken for detailing after washing, it leaves a thin layer of carnuba wax and a great shine.

I recently switched to McQuires quick detail spray when I used the last of my Fukken Wax, but it doesn't leave behind the shine the Fukken Wax did, so I think I'll order another batch.

I use FX Spray Wax after every other wash or so to help maintain regular waxings of FX SynWax -- I don't believe it should be used instead of -- but in addition to a regular polish wax routine.

Some spray waxes you have to let dry to a haze and that's too much work for me. FX just wipes on and buffs easily like an instant detailer -- a very nice product to add gloss and protection.

Update: I just bought Meguires quick detail spray wax. This product is AMAZING! I can wax my car in less than a half hour and the results are incredible! I find myself applying it a few times a week and on weekends as well. It goes on so easy and leaves such a great shine I can't resist overdoing it with this stuff. Also once I get some on the black plastic parts of the car it just rubs off. When I used Meguies Tech wax which was a paste it discolored all of the plastic to white which looked awful. Give this stuff a shot its quick and easy and only 5 bucks.

The paste will be a little tougher. I have switched to Turtle wax ice both liquid and paste. They even encourage putting it on the trim, dosen't leave any residue and the shine is great.

I detail high end cars and love collinite wax its a pure white carnuba paste nothing compares , spray is ok to puff up at a show to get prints off ,the harder it is to apply the longer it will last on

If you haven't tried the Mothers paste, it's actually a cake wax and it's very, very easy to apply and lasts a long time -- I still use the spray wax after washing, but the paste is great.

Meguiars Gold Class, the best wax and most durable you can buy for under $20. It will really make your car shine. I've done numerous
dark colored cars from $2,000 Hondas to $100,000 Mercedes over the
years and it is all that i use. Just remember as with any wax to stay away from industrial car washes, they strip off wax that's why they clean so well. Use a good quality car wash solution that will not strip
wax to help protect your investment.

While working I ran across some sales guy in a 95 GT vert who was selling this product Fast Wax, we started talking about my vert and he gave me a free can, he also got the Local Wal-Mart to carry the product. One can only does about 4 waxings but I tell you what it looked fantastic with very little labor. I bought about 4 cans before Wal-Mart ran out I even asked them to reorder but they never did you can get it here though.

RJ Brown Racing - Performance Detailing Products, FASTWAX  BilletBrite  Sales

I have to say this is the best wax I have ever used hands down.

negative on the spray wax. it is for pansies. a real wax job requires roll up your sleeves, gettin dirty, arm muscle. anything less is a waste.
