Many Web Browsers come with that feature as well and will automatically check your spelling when you type online. I think it is a fantastic thing.

Before that became common, I used to type my responses in my e-mail application and then copy that to the "message" box for posting on forums. It was not because I can't spell either. It is that sometimes we just mess up a word or even have a typo.
