Default Pony run, asheville nc, 9 14 2008

Hello to the local Southeast Mustang owners. For those who are looking for events, there was a great event yesterday put on by the Blue Ridge Mustang Club in Asheville, NC and I want to commend the club for organizing a great event and executing a great plan. They had 320 Mustangs yesterday and the Pony run went through Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway for 62 miles.
Thanks to the local law enforcement officers that stopped traffic for the Pony Run. Vendors came with food, drinks and items for sale including the Ford Performance truck. Gas worries kept the crowd down a bit but 320 looked like a big crowd to me. There was also music, raffles and prizes. The real prize was meeting all those great folks and driving through the forest. The Blue Ridge Parkway is on every "Great Drives" list and the Pisgah National Forest used to be part of the Vanderbilt estate known as the Biltmore House. This will be the location of a National Event in 2010. I highly recommend it to all. The house has a TWO MILE ENTRANCE ROAD & contains two acres inside. If you have never seen the Biltmore house, this would be a great visit. Blue Ridge Mustang club has a website so keep up with the events.
The Pony run raised money for the local Hospice, a very worthy cause.
Great event, great Mustang owners and I had a wonderful time. People would wave and cheer as the cars were riding by. Ford needs a little help right now and I hope that we did that. Do not miss this event next year. They are going to give us a preview of the Biltmore House event. Movies have been filmed at the Biltmore House and it is one of the best houses in America. The Mustang is made in America and the Biltmore House was made in America. Applause, applause, Applause.
