Question Tennessee Mustangs Do You Pass Emissions

Before I start stripping my LX vert I need to know what I can get away with and still pass the sniffer. Obviously the cats are a must due to the visual inspection. However, they don't pop the hood here like they do in other states. Any of you passing the sniffer without your pumps/emissions equipment?

As long as they see a cat,and the car runs within specs, you are clear.I have seen many with no air pump and such, even hollow cats pass.

Will I need a tune to pass once I start pulling stuff? If I stay with CARB numbered parts will that cover it?
