I've been in your town several times over the years but one times sticks out. Maybe twenty years ago I was talking with this older fellow about cars. A friend of my fathers' has the original Steve McQueen car from the movie "The Blob" and he was looking for some parts. We were parts chasing in the days before the internet and we were introduced to the guy who took us to this old rusty garage. My eyes bugged out.... A Hertz Shelby GT-350 was the first thing I saw. He had 55-57 t-Birds and tons of other classics. I'm sure he's long dead since this was the mid eighties. Just there in the middle of Newport in a rusty frigging building.

do u read hotorod mag were they showed barn finds . I would love to find cars like that.most people I talk to about there cars in fields are going to restore it one day.that day never comes it makes me sick

A friend bought me a copy The Cobra in the Barn...cool book. The cars I saw weren't barn finds. This guy knew what he had, he just kept them in this old metal barn. He looked to be at least in his 70's and in failing health. There will always be gems tucked away somewhere if you look long and hard enough. I Tend to find more in guns than cars these days as the WWII and Korean war vets pass away and their widows don't know what to do with the "bringbacks".`Antiricer, call or pm me for directions.

Actually I'm glad some never get "restored". I worked with a woman years ago that owned a Buick GS (Gransport) Stage I 455HO (If you don't know what this car is...it was the GNX Grand National before there was one....If you don't know what that is....... She owned it since it was new. Her beer guzzling dopehead son moved back in with her and decided to "restore" this very nice original muscle car. For some reason redneck white trash love primer even when no body work is performed. He destroyed the steering geometry with a set of "hijackers" out back. The 455 succombed to too many tached out burnouts ( replaced with 305 chevy). The turbo 400 was wasted by neautral to drive exhibitions. The cragars on the rear and factory buick ralleys on the front were a nice touch. Finally he crashed it and it saved him despite his abuses. Saw a 1971 Mach I with a 351 Cleveland done the same way. Some people....Jeeezsus.

up by the house there,s a cuda 71-72 yellow black strip sits in a guys yard.he want sell it cause it his wife's first car so it sits and rusts.I also knew were a 70 TORINO GT.it had know no motor or trans but the body and paint and body was mint red black strips.sat behind this womens house for years she die a year ago car is gone.I HATE seeing cars rust, every car has a story .I think back when it was new ,the family who owned it ,what happen in the car,.I also like history and the story behind it

Hi guys! There is a guy behind me that has a camaro rotting under a tarp in his back yard. My hubby keeps trying to get him to sell it and there it rots. Sad shame. I prefer the older american muscle to the new...classier in a way. I agree Justin, the stories behind 'em are very cool. If you keep yours for another 30 years just think of all of the history that'll be behind it lol. I really liked that orange camaro that was at the show in LC . Snake (sorry don't know your name) did you get out to the show on Saturday?

We should round up the families and get together sometime and show off our autobabies. Weather is breaking Snake you should be out showin' it off soon. Justin is doing a great job with the mods; his car sounds wicked.

I didn't get out to the show. I had scheduled a shooting day at the house....well not at the house, but in my backyard. The Cobra sat under wraps while a buddy and I expended ammo.

I unwrap it whenever the weather is nice. You really need to do something about that signature tag. That car is crying for mods. I can here it now...., " but all the other mustangs have mods, can I have it please". You can make little ones that don't cost much and put a smile on your face. Then you can get addicted and look like this.

now days the parts you buy want voiled the factory warranty.I woulndnt go nitrous or nothing like that but a CAI.free flowing mufflers,sct tuner
