Maybe I'm behind the times but I just discovered where the 45th anniversary show is gonna be. It's at the Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama (just east of Birmingham.)
The MCA had their 30th anniversary show there in 2006 and it was a great venue for that show. I had a ball. My only concern was whether or not there would be enough room for all of the folks I expect will come to this thing. I checked the Barber website and learned that they are adding a new 10 acre parking lot so that will help a great deal.
The dates for the event are April 17th, 18th and 19th of 2009. I'm already making plans to go and trying to figure out whether or not I can get the '65 in "show shape" by then.
There are several groups planning caravans to the show from several different directions so find one that's going the same direction you are and join in.
Details will be forthcoming on the MCA website: Mustang Club of America

I am registered to attend and have hotel reservations. I am #231 of the 250 cars to be judged in the show. If you go, look me up. I'm the one with the restmod 88 GT with the chrome 5.0.

I too am registered to attend and have hotel reservations. I'm not in the judged category, just display. However I will be running the Saturday Open Track. Look for me and my brother (Me:2007 Grabber Orange GT Coupe, My Bro:2004 Silver Cobra Vert).
Don't know why there's not more interest. I've been trying to drum up interest among the Mustang folks in my area without much success. I especially can't convince anyone else to run the open track stuff (wimps).
Glad to know someone else on this forum is going to this event. Might be easier for you to find me than the other way around, but I'll keep an eye out. See you there!

Just look for the Orange coupe with the Virginia "FAST DAD" license plates
I just joined this site today. I have a 2002 Saleen S281 convertible and have been a Mustang nut since I was a kid. I am wondering how many people are going to protest the national show in Alabama because of Senator Shelby and his attack on the organized labor (UAW) of the north. I for one will not be attending. I was going to go to the show since I have made it to the 20th, 30th, 35th and the 40th shows. As much as I will miss going to this event I just can't support a State that has a Senator such as Shelby with his viscous attack on the big 3 and the UAW. I have worked too hard for this guy to tell me that I didn't earn my pay and benefits. I have to put in at least 30 years to get a pension, and all he has to do as a United States Senator is put in one term (4 years) and receive a full pension for the rest of his life and never have to pay into social security. He supports all the foreign auto manufacturers that are in his state and he drives a Mercedes. Also I hear the big 3 are going to pull out of Talladega, again why should they support a state that wants to destroy them and let them go bankrupt. This country has it's priorities screwed up. Protect the American companies first ,for when push comes to shove all those foreign companies are going to be loyal to the mother land. I did wright to the committee of the show to tell them that I would not be attending and why. Within minutes of sending the e-mail I recieved a response that was to say the least a frustrated and worried organizer. I guess that I was not the only one wrighting to complane about Senator Shelby. He sounded very worried and told me that I would be missing a great show. I wrote back and told him that this is one of many shows , but I have only one carrier that this man is trying to destroy and I for one will not spend any of my hard earned UAW money in a state that supports a Senator like Shelby.
I am a member of Magic City Mustangs, here in the Birmingham Area
our club along with the MCA and Ford are putting on this event.
Currently there are over 1000 cars registered, the Thursday night Cruise/Block Party in Homewood is full, the saturday night Banquet is sold out. And the on track times are filled to capacity.

Senator Shelby is a douchebag full of hot air, but so are most of the folks who are elected to public office. I'm not going to punish the folks of Birmingham or myself because of something he said.

Well stated my man. Hope you enjoy yourself. I'll be looking for you.

MGP Caliper Covers just signed up for the show, but I won't be driving from San Diego. I'm looking for a car to display in our booth with the caliper covers. Please contact me if you are interested.
