bought car from guy. has title but there are black majic marks thru buyers and sellers name on title. how do i go about getting suriety bond or is it cheaper to do a mechanics lean

Your best bet would be to call the DMV. Here's the website for titles and registration;

I don't know if you are still needing an answer to this question. but I work with titles all day long. All you would need to do is get an affidavit from the person that marked out the information stating that he marked it out incorrectley in title number (include the #) and that there was no fraud involved. Then you should be able to take it to the DMV and get the title into your name with the title and an application.
