Default Military members forum section

Hello all,

I was wondering about adding a military members section to the AFM forums. I'm sure that we have quite a few military members here on the forums (myself included), and I think it would be a great way for us military guys and gals to network, get together, compare vendors local to bases, or even offer mechanical help to fellows.

Not a bad idea... We'll see what we can do.

I do not like this idea. If people in the military want to network I believe there is a website that does that already for you. Not that I have nothing against the Military but I think most of the people chiming in will be non Military. Just my .02 cents worth.

I agree. And we already have MANY Military members, and former military, on the forum who "network" all the time.

Plus, what is next? A Police forum section? A Fireman and EMT forum section? How about a Gay and Lesbian form section? Or a single mom's and dad's section? How about a stay at home dad's section? Or maybe a fitness nut's section?

The forum already has sections that folks don't use correctly and we have to move posts all the time because of it. I think if we add any more sections they should really really really be thought about before doing so, not just because it sounds nice.

As proud as I am of my military service, I agree with Sam on this. AFM has multitudes of sections and subsections already and it seems somewhat cluttered. Adding another would only make that even moreso the case.

There are, but there is still nothing wrong with a section on here. It's not like its going to take a lot of space or time to create one.

It could even be called a Heroes section to include all of the above with the Military.

Time and space? Not much, no. But it is another thing that the staff have to deal with as well as like I said, folks already don't use the forum sections correctly.

Well I would be opposed to calling it "Heroes" at a minimum, but like I said, you would then have to consider forum sections for any group out there.

It is, of course up to the Forum owners.

I personally don't think we need a "military" section on the Mustang forums. There's nothing saying you can not create a thread in the mustang lounge and share with each other? We have way too many sections as it is, I hear from newer members all the time they cannot find their way around for awhile. Just my .02.

I could have sworn I recently saw a thread in the Lounge about the Military.
