I have been looking into buying a nice sports car for under 30K and all the websites out there don't talk too much about the 03-04 Cobra. I currently have a honda accord (my previous car was accord too) but I'd like own a 'speed and performance' car and Cobra is one car I feel is up there. I see the 03-04 Cobra that are beefed up to be just under 30K? is it really worth it...I'd really appreciate if you Cobra owners provide some technical information on how Cobra rates better than other cars like SRT,BMW, etc.
unlimited potential. forged internals. 400hp stock. 500 with light mods. 700-1000 with aftermarket power adders. you be the judge.
$30000 is a bit much unless it has some considerable mods or extremely low miles. it's gonna be a huge jump from an accord to a cobra but I'd definitely go for it if you have the dough.

You find a 03 or 04 under 15,000 miles and not to heavy mod. Car looks very clean and well taken care of then yes well worth it. I found mine with 3,200 miles and is basicly new. Man was asking 33,000 dollars for it. I got it on a trade that was worth around 27,000. I don't regreat mine at all. I smile every time I get in it. It is my first new car. I am 46 years old and have always had a late 68 -70 vehicle and my 03 cobra is awsome. Mine is not a daily driver, only nice afternoons and weekends.
I agree with everyone. The 03-04 cobra is definitely worth it. I have turned down more than that a few times. The only car I would ever even begin to think about replacing it with would be an 08' GT500 KR.
I just bought an 03 with less than 10K miles for $22,750. That said, I did my research and pounced on it the day it was advertised. From LA to Ft. Lauderdale you can expect 03's with 20K to 30K miles to be posted for about $24K to $26K, and 04's with about the same miles for $25K-$28K. While I didn't buy from them, you might check out LA motors in Texas, as they have several Cobras "on the lot." Albeit, they post prices on the high side of the range above for what they have compared to what's around the US.
Do your research on the exact one you are looking for, including the miles and price range. As soon as you see one, move very quickly as they go fast. I had 3 snatched out from under me before I got this one.
A simple pulley swap with supporting mods & exhaust will get you there. That won't cost 2-3k in labor. Remember, these things are factory supercharged.

I'd go with the Cobra. I wouldn't pay over 30k. I just got my 03 convertible with 34,000 miles on it for 23,000, and everything was in great working order, and there are a bunch of them around the Florida area for sale under $30K. For that it better have no miles, and a lot of ugrades, but like they all said get it in the low $20's, and throw on $3k worth into the upgrade s/c and have yourself easy over 500rwhp, and all the way up to 600rwhp. Big step up in power from a honda. You'll love it, and bne so happy you did, and they also handle much better than GT's if you were loking at them too.
With 11,200 miles and the mild combo and items added, I wouldn't take a penny under 29K for mine. If you can find one that has been taken care of, then its worth the money. There are some deals out there.
Heres a question, you guys that own an 03-04 Cobra, how much are you guys spending on a monthly payment on them? I really want to get one but dang I dont think I can afford it!!
Nothing. I made my wife pay for mine. You guys ever heard thunder in the winter and know there is no storms around, thats me snapping my fingers and getting the money from her. Now before I get slapped, my payments were $350 for 3 years. The rest I put down.
