Default 2004 Mustang cobra next mod

Hey guys i was just wanting to drop by and see what you fellow owners would think the next modification i make should be. Currently here is my setup:

2004 Torch Red Cobra
8,500 Miles
2.8 Upper Pully
Idler Pully
Afco Pro Heat Exchanger
Upr Cai
Upr Offroad X-Pipe
Flowmaster Thunder Catback
Diablosport Predator
Custom tune at Mustang Motorsports

I was thinking about getting a Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter and a Diablosport MAF.ai

What do you guy think would be a good idea to go after? This is not a daily car, weekend only. Never ran it at the track but am looking forward do being a frequent track vistor soon. Going this coming friday to run the 1/8th. Thanks guys

If you are going to be spending alot of time at the dragstrip, you might want to look into beefing up the rearend. The stock IRS is not exactly the best choice.

the sky is the limit with these cars and it all depends on what your goals are.

If your looking for a bit more grunt i would port the blower add a boost a pump, and Port the TB and plenum. My ported eaton with a 2.76 made 494whp and 486wtq (with a stock TB). If you go that route you will need to start thinking about a new clutch down the road. If you want anymore than 500-540 (blower only) you will need a twin screw or Nitrous.

Also, Long tubes for your mods are a waste of money. They barely add any power and are a nightmare to install. 03/04 cobras don't really need them until closer to 600 or more horsepower when they start being restrictive.

+1 on beefing up the IRS. an IRS brace, and some bushings will help. Halfshafts are a crap shoot. Some cobras are running around with 600hp on the stock halfshafts no problem, Some break nearly stock. It really depends on how hard you launch, which tires you run and technique. My buddy has a 99 cobra that was running around 500hp with the weaker 28 spline halfshaft. He is now closer the 600hp and just broke his first one.

Cool Cool, Ya i ended up getting the steeda tri ax shifter and man i really do enjoy it. So much better than the stock shifter. Im considering about getting this package next and installing it. Not too sure if all the stuff is really needed tho. It comes with a Hard launch cross bar, Urethane bushings, Rear shock tower brace, and a billet IRS cover girdle for $450 bucks. Here the link to this package

03-04 MUSTANG SVT Cobra MOTOBLUE™ BILLET IRS COVER GIRDLE KIT

You guys think thats worth it or just go with the Irs cover?

I say either longtubes or port your stock blower.
