Change out the gears (3.27s) in that rear end. With a high winding DOHC you need at the very least 3.73s, but 4.10s are preferred. You won't even notice the dead spot with more mechanical advantage.

yeah im doing the rear end gears next but i was told not to go over 3.73 because of the hey speed runs... that 4.10s are not good when going fast like on the highway... so i had my mined set on 3.73s

3.73 is what I have, that should suffice.

How fast are you trying to go? What is your redline on those Cobras? Isn't it about 6800 rpm? Use this calculator... The T-45 has a .67 5th gear ratio. Input 4.10s and the stock size tires 245/45/17. Your speed in 5th gear at 6k rpm is 167 mph, thats with 4.10s! Plat around with this some... Ford Mustang: Mustang Tech: Calculators & Decoders: RPM Calculator

get some headers and exhaust and it will fix your dead spot. 4.10s will be fine(80mph@2800rpm) but 3.73s are also great and better if you do alot of highway driving
