Default Wheel Spacers on 2001 Mustang Cobra

I have a 01 Cobra with 2004 Factory take off 17 X 9 Chrome wheels, and want to add the 1 inch wheel spacer kit. The kit that American Muscle has says. ( These wheel spacers are specifically made for aftermarket wheels and will NOT fit factory wheels )
Why not?
Is there some that will work on Factory Wheels?
Little help please!

Default Spacers

Fabricate your own. Wheel spacers will weaken your axle's and hubs and I don't recommend them. I suppose you could get longer wheel studs and use aluminum or steel washers to space your wheels out. The correct way to achieve a wider stance is to get a set of wheels with a backspacing that is less than stock. Less backspacing, wider stance.

Go with the Eibach or H&R - these bolt to your axles and have studs mounted in them to which your tires mount. Been running them for 2 years with no problems. I'll go with 10.5 18's later but for now the spacers work fine.
