Default stock 2004 Mustang cobra. mods?

ive got an 04 cobra thats bone stock at the moment.
im an 18year old student working at a grocery store, so my paychecks arent all that great. their mainly just for gas and takin the gf out. so far ive used my paychecks on the looks of my car since theyre a lot cheaper (tinted windows, smoked tail lights, cobra bumper insert, and some super lame headlights that im gonna return.) but anyways my birthday is commin up and my mom is gonna drop 4 to 5 hundred on my car. so i was thinkin, what performace mod should i get?>?

pretty much everything needs a tune so i dont know where to start.
and can someone please explain to me the difference between a chip tune (like a diablo sport) and a shop tune? thanks

CAI run about $215 for a JLT
UPR X pipe without cats about $159 or with cats about $300 they are good and cheap.
Pulley runs about $100 but get the idlers cause stocks are crap. about $400 for the complete set and SC Pulley. BIGGEST SEAT OF THE PANTS improvement. BUT GET A TUNE WITH THIS MOD
After Cat Exhaust $400 on up (sounds great)

Dont believe what each manufacture promises on gains. Yes the Cobra responds awesome to mods but if i added up all the "promised gains" of my mods. I would have a hundred more HP or what the average ricer claims they have haha J/K

I have all of the above and Made 453hp and 491 Tq

For 400-500 go ahead and get ya a nice exhaust setup, get it sounding right. Then save your money and put what ya can into intake, pulley swap, and tune, which after all said and done is probably another 800-900 bucks with install.

heres an update.

you know how i had $700 to throw into my car???
i blew about $200 on taking my gf out to dinner every nite and buying crap that i dont really need. on the good side, i finally found a shop that has a dyno! and the guy is actually workin on a black term. cobra right now. i feel bad for the guy tho cuz he just gives the mechanic dude $$$ and he orders the parts. like i asked him what kind of tuner he put in it, and he said "i dont know, ask that guy, he ordered everything." so far hes got bassani o/r X, bassani catback, JLT cai, and new lower pulley. the guy thats workin on the cobra is charging me $825 dollars for him to order me a JLT cai and SCT tuner with labor! that sounds like a rip to me!???? but anyways with my left over cash i went and ordered the JLT and diablo sport tuner myself online. and it only set me back $600, and i know damn well it doesnt cost $225 to install that. well if you actually read this far, thanks for listening.

and i heard changing the crank pulley is better than the blower pulley, is this right? its supposed to give you 6lbs of boost and its less hard on your engine. i heard this from the guy workin at the shop. so which pulley should i change????

be careful when changing the crank pulley, most of the time if you go about 4# you need to have your blower ported (like stiegemier does)

If you havent opened the diablo yet send it back. you can get it here for the cheapest i have seen yet. (got mine here) for $299.95 after the $100 rebate has been applied.
DS-U7142 - $399.95 : FC Customs, High performance automotive parts and installations.

It comes with a few canned tunes that you can do your self. After i put everything one i went to a tuner and he loaded the canned tune we pulled 420 hp. he then tweaked that tune and we got 453 rwhp and 491 Tq. so for a quick fix the canned tunes are great but in the end to obtain maximum HP i would have a good tuner tune it.

So you have to put the Decal on your car and take a picture of it and then send it in and they will give you $100 rebate right? Not bad, after it's all said and done then I would take the decal back off lol.
