i drive the 98 TA, i have the SLP ram air system and the ls6 intake manifold, as for the cobra, idk what he had. needless to say, he took a big **** on me. from 70- 110 he had a good bus on me. that thing was LOUD i had to plug my ears!
Cobras are fast but I've seen some pretty nasty LS1's. With the right mods those cars can be a big handful for us cobra guys. I'd say that the cobra had at least CAI, pulley,x-pipe/exhaust, and a tune.
A full bolt-on LS1 with a small shot of spray could be very troublesome for the average bolt on cobra.
The 04 cobra responds very well to the typical bolt ons, so he could have easily had around 500 something hp. But like stated before, an ls1 with the right bolt ons will easily take one. My buddy with a head/cam and exhaust ws6 run right with my car.

Don't worry man. Gives you more reason to mod your car Those Terminators are tough and respond very well to simple bolt-ons. Try a more aggressive cam and some better heads and maybe some spray for for your Trans Am and go at it again.

i just noticed something...stang guys helping and encouraging a f-body fan...any stang fan been on a f-body forum lately? you wont find anything but flammin most of the time...JMO
as for the cobra...they are just awesome..they respond very well to just the simple bolt ons, and some companies have the whote set of bolt ons made as a kit for maximum performance (slp 575hp kit for example) ..then there is "entry level" superchager upgrades, and several kick ass kenny bell setups. i think the cobras weakness is its cooling system when under massive boost...but that can be said in alot of applications
i would suggest a clutch, cam, heads and maybe some sort of boost..be it bottle fed, or centrifical
That's why I'm on this site. The people are helpful and seem to speak with a good attitude. I would not be on this site if their were ass holes on talking trash to one another. Seems people on this site may it be male or female will help you if they know the answer or can lead you in the right direction.

The SLP kit will not get you 575 to the wheels. All it is a 2.80 pulley,MAF, handheld and catback. which is good for around 460 to 480 rwhp
To the original poster is you want to beat a cobra... spray the MF house down!!!, but upgrade your glass rearend first!
just remember guys...talk is cheap car W with X amount of power should beat car Y with Z power.
However, the deciding factor in most races is the big D-mod...and that's the Driver!
OP, if you spray a 100 shot y'all should be pretty close and the TQ difference you would have on him might nudge you out front. Now, with that said, i'm making 468hp/461tq and have out run a fully bolted (this does NOT include heads and cams...those are bolt ons, sorry lol) with a 150 shot, but i simply outdrove the **** out of that guy
