New to the mustang scene and I am currently looking into buying an 01 cobra for 14,000 with 55,000 miles on it. Good price? Also is there anything problem wise i need to know about this year cobra's? Any information is helpful

I bought my '01 last year and I love it. I can't think of any problem areas other than the IRS rear if you plan to race it. Stiffer bushings, a diff cover brace and some good shocks help that dramatically. The problem is with wheel hop. If you don't plan to race it, then you really don't need anything. If you are planning to race, some prefer swapping to solid axle, but I like the IRS. Handling and ride is much better.

alright thanks a lot, I am really not going to be racing it, may take it to the track once or twice but surely nothing serious. Is the deal i mentioned above sound good? It is at a dealer around where i live and it sounded pretty good

It sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I was looking at a black 01 Cobra Vert. with 60k near me for 15k from a dealership. It was oh so sexy though. All black on black on black it was nasty. Go for it I think that you will like it. I have liked every Cobra that I have driven. lol

Two of my friends had them. Both of them have had the lower crack bearing go on them one from racing and the other guy was stopped at a light(he was just idleing) I was with him when happend. I dont know if it was just because of them or it was the desine of the motor at the time?

What year? The 99 or the 01? I have not heard of too many people having major troubles with the 01's.

Keep the IRS. The IRS gives a nicer ride for daily drivers and they can be built to go straight just as well as a SRA.
