Default 2003 Mustang Cobra IRS brace

Anyone install one of these irs braces themselves? If so, how much is involved? Do you recommend one? I see where one company has them for 139.99 I may put one on for general purpose. Also do you recommend the coolant mod between cylinder 7&8. I understand that you must remove the tranny to do so. If reccomended, I may install one whenever I have to change the clutch. Thanks.

IRS Brace: Mine was already on when I bought the car, so I don't know how much work it is, but it doesn't look to difficult.
It is absolutely necessary! Don't even think of it as optional -- even if you don't race your car. Especially because you're modded.

A buddy didn't have one on his 04 because he "never took it to the track" -- well one day he launched from a stop light and..... well, it wasn't pretty.

Default IRS brace

Thanks for your info. I haven't got under the car to see what might be involved. Was wondering if the half shafts got to come out. Maybe some who has added the brace can give me some info on it. I do plan on putting one on. I will look at it this weekend to see what it might take to do so. Again, thanks.

Ok For starters:

1. I would rec. you get a IRS brace. I bought the billitflow its prob. the best one out there and it was pretty simple and straight forward to put on. Came with great directions you can get it here.
BilletFlow 99-04 Cobra IRS Brace [IRS-BRACE] - $159.95

2. You need the cooling mod. I bought the GenII evenflow cooling mod. It works great and you do not have to drop your tranny to install it nor do you have to remove your s/c to install it. You can also find that here.
Even Flow GEN 2 Head Cooling Mod [EF-GEN2COOLINGKIT] - $120.00

Hope this all helps!
