Question IRS question?

the owner of the shop thats doing my cobra swap has offered to trade his built IRS (with bushings, irs brace, level 5 axles, etc..) for my SRA (with uca and lca and 3.73 gears). but id have to offer a few extra bucks to go along with it. he told me to get online and see how much i should offer b/c he dosnt know what to ask for along with my SRA. what should i offer?

As long as your running street tires, you should be ok although anything can happen. There are different companies (Steeda, Max.Motorsports ect.) that have a upgrade package for the rear. I changed the bushings, added a brace and so on.

I say good trade.. I'm running around 850 rwhp and never had a prob. They handle a whole lot better on road which from what u say would benifet u more. The only draw back is the IRS is fragile to wheel hop. As long as u use slicks on the track and keep the spin to a minnamal,,you will be aight. If he is wanting ur setup do a even swap for your hospitality in helping him... ?

I love my IRS but I've seen first hand the magic a Watts Link can do for a solid axle car. I say throw on a Watts Link, and save a few bucks.

I read an article that said it only weighed 80lbs more, hmmm. I added aluminum diff, bushings and I get a little more vibration but oh boy did it make a difference in response and wheel hop.

When you say a little more vibration, is it really noticeable or no big deal? I'm considering going through and replacing all the bushings, etc. but I'm curious about any change in ride quality(stiffer/harsher, noisier). Appreciate any input you have, thanks.

I don't notice it at all unless I'm at higher rpm and off the throttle, But when on the throttle and normal driving it's not bad at all.
