as far as reliable and how many miles before the need to be rebuilt: we don't really know yet. there's a guy on another SVT website that is intake, midpipe, cat-back, pullied, and tuned with something like 108K miles on his car and has been pullied since like 40K miles and he was running low 12's on his street tires just a few weeks ago. So that should give you some idea.
terminator, gto's are fast but heavy, a terminator is a sweet car
Because the Terminator's aren't heavy?!?! They weigh 3600 or more depending on options. The only reason that they are fast are because they have 400+hp and have a slightly better power to weight ratio than the GTO does. You can not call a Termi light in any way.
Ups of the cobra is that its a cobra
Downs its the older body style
ups of GTO: its a six liter v8
Downs: its a rebadged Vauxhall
it costs a lot more to fill up
and it represents the laziness of Pontiac's engineers to put together a real GTO resurrection so they just took a car from their Australia branch

I debated on a 06 GTO or a 2003 Cobra for awhile. . . The 03-04 cobra's stock are slightly quicker than the GTO. Less than 2k in mods and tuning and your up 150HP. I'm extremely happy I chose the cobra over the GTO. Plus, they look alot better. GTO's don't stand out, a Cobra sure turns heads.

IMO, the older body style is an upside. But thats the usual statement that comes from a guy who for some reason buy's an 05+ GT over a 03/04 cobra.
And the GTO is a rebadged Holden Monaro. The Vauxhall is also a rebadged Monaro. The Monaro was designed in australia and vauxhall is a european GM subsidary.
I bought mine 03 with 15k on it for $21k in perfect condition.
GTO looks like a family car, cobra looks like muscle. And of course everyone here is gonna say cobra , YOUR ON A COBRA FORUM!
Go to GTO s forum and ask the same thing. It will be gto all the way.

I own a Cobra and I say Cobra over the GTO any day. Now if it were a 1966 GTO that would be different. Drive one of each and I gurantee you will go for the Cobra. Even if it cost a little more. LOL I would not take two GTO's for one cobra. Once you turn the key, you are hooked.
