Hi All,

Been a Ford guy since high school, starting with a rusty '67 Mustang Coupe, long gone. I bought a '68 Mustang Coupe a couple of years ago which I'm just finishing up.

Today, I finally stepped up a few decades and bought a black/black '98 Cobra SVT coupe, and we get our earliest major snowfall since 1962!

Going back tomorrow to bring her home.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here.

Last Saturday I took the president of the local Mustang club on a 220+ mile trip one way to pick up his new to him '96' Cobra. Damn did it sound good. Good luck with the car, join a local club and have fun.

Thanks Guys,

I spent about 5 hours yesterday cleaning her up. Did I mention it's BLACK? Washed with Dawn detergent, clayed, light-coumpounded, ScratchX'ed. Looks 10x beter, but now I've got to get rid of some water spots & bird dropping marks.

The interior looked like it had not been cleaned in the two years the prior owner had the car. Candy wrappers, dirt, gravel and even a Casio watch.

She really does put you back in your seat like a 39,000 mile Cobra should.

I tried white vinegar 100% soaked onto a microfiber cloth and some elbow grease. They seemed to lighten up a little. Followed that with a light polishing compound using a random orbit buffer. Looks much better, but I can still see them.

Black's a pain in the (_l_)
