Default 1999 SVT Cobra over heating problem

I became the owner of the car through the sale of my 1965 BackDraft Racing Shelby Cobra and cash, the problem started not long after the transaction,on a drive the car started getting hot. I started by replacing the thermostat,no change.I then replaced the overflow tank thinking that the small leak there might be the problem,no change.I then replaced the thermostat again just in case with a motorcraft piece,no change. There is no coolant in the oil,and i don't think that it is an intake leak because the car starts up fine and run's great(no coolant being burn't off). The top radiator hose get's hot while the lower hose stays cool.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's a good chance you got a air pocket in the car. When you refilled the car with coolent was the car running?

Take the radiator cap off and start the car.
Fill it up as the level goes down. Once it stops going down CAP THE RADIATOR FIRST!
Dont turn the car off with the cap off it will start to flow out of the car then you'll have to start all over.

You could also flush the car and add new coolent, Check your water pump. The cobras runs hotter then the gt's and v6 stangs. Dont know why (at least from what I've seen).
Mine runs between the (a-l) in normal all the time.

Actually, on a 99 Cobra you have to leave the cap on. You have to remove the flush mount cap on the crossover tube. It has the square indent for a 1/4" socket wrench. Once removed you let the car "burp" while running. And you fill the system from there. Once full and no more bubbles, replace the cap. It is very possible this is your problem.

Hi guy's, I wanted to thank both of you for your help, that is exactly what the problem was. After letting the car blow coolant out of the tank for a while it was fine. I just wanted to let you know much I appreciated your input.
