I have Kumho Ecsta MX's. I'm alot like you. The car rarely sees rain, never snow, and only out in the summer. MX's say at tire rack "not meant for driving in freezing or near freezing conditions". The rubber is soft, but holds the road like it's on rails. The tread rating is like 100. Normal tire is around 300, and drag radials are like 0. Someone said to me "you'll be lucky to get 35k miles with those". I said "good thing I only put 3-5k miles on per year. They do wear a little quicker but the traction is worth it. They ran about $950 for the set. I ran 265/35/zr18 on front and 295/35/zr18 on the rear. I love Kumho, and for the price they out perform alot of more expensive tires. Just my $.02
