I am going to be putting 4.10 gears in my car. I will also be making a 3000 mile trip in August. Should I wait to install them in my car or do you think the gears will handle just fine?

i would just go ahead and do it your gonna lose a little mileage on the highway but not much and you will be shifting more often but i can assure you those 4.10s will make the 3000mile trip much more enjoyable.

+1, i would do it now. your hwy rpms will only increase about 200-300rpms at 70mph.
I have to do a 2300 mile trip in less than a month, that alone sux lol. So i feel for ya on a 3K trip.

You won't hit 60 in second anymore I'd go with 3.73 as long as you like to cruise. 4.10 are for beat'in around town and going as qick as possible between Stop lights. You'll get tired of shifting so much so quickly.

stock gears

1st you hit 45mph at redline i think
2nd 75
3rd.115
4th 150?
5th(never topped out my cobra yet so idunno. haha)

so it has stock 3.27 gears. if i put a 3.73 in. what do u think those mphs would look like in each gear?
