i had posted somthin bout this before on here but i raced the 01 cobra and i stuck wit him all the way til i missed third gear both times we raced the tranny i got in my car now is messed up but i got it to where i have to double clutch it when i race some1 now so i'm ganna race him again and c how it does

Double clutching, That's what I do when driving my Kenworth W900 big rig. Sounds to me like your syncros are getting bad. What type of trans do you have?

the first race we did i lost and he got the jump on me both times but i stayed next to him both times til third gear,
and yea my snycro is bad in it i bought from a guy somewhere but it was better than the first trans that was in it when i got the car but i'm ganna race him after i race a 99 gt and if i beat him bad then i'll know i'm ready for another race wit the 2001 cobra.
but what i dont get is if i was able to stay wit him both times and the ratings on my car and his the horse power is mine has 240 and his 320. if that was true he should of beat me pretty bad.

and i took out a 4cly trans and the second gear was bout totally out and i got me a 86gt trans in it now but the third gear (i think it just the snycro spring and plate in it bad) or i had a dude tht knows trans thts wat he told me it pro was but i'm bout to buy a whole set of snycro 1-5 and fix the 4cly trans then put it back in and fix the other i take out.

You have more low end torque. DOHC 4.6's aren't known for monster torque. My last dyno session I laid 301rwhp with 300lbs of torque. Now your car if it's laying 240rwhp, you're probably more in the 270-300lbs of torque. So you would keep up with a 99-01 initially. But the DOHC 4.6 redline much higher than 5.0's and the power band is much broader. My 99 Cobra will pull all the way to redline. You'll hang for the first couple gears but he's eventually going to walk away.

+1. Even with my 95GT, at the time i had 3.73 gears, CAI, shorty headers, h pipe, catback and a few other things, i raced my friends 96 Cobra that had a few mods done. We raced around a 20mph roll and i pulled about 2 cars on him. It's the low rpm torque, 5.0's hit it alot quicker and the DOHC's have to hit it in the upper rpms. Though around 50 or 60mph, he was walking me.
