the 04 cobra is around 375hp stock or so i am told spend 2000 on the right stuff and you could see 550 to 600 thats why they run 23 to 30 thousand.

id just buy a modded car already. iv seen an 03 black coupe with red inserts. 21k. 3.4 wipple blown original documentation and all parts pro. installed........if it matters like me and i like to do it MY way. anyways if your stuck at 2k and no more.

id say get
(BBK 65mm Twin Blade TB/ steeda blower boost bypass kit/Upper/Lower pully/JLT CAI/Diablo handheld tuner with custom tune/steeda shock tower bar/eibach-H&R sport springs/FRPP 3:73 Gears) <<< not a bad way to spend about 2k

if you have more money or can save up.. id suggest getting HP twin 57mm turbo kit.. possibly upgrade to 62mm.. that should take you to about 700whp.

ok check it out... for 1500-2000 you WILL reach over 500 to the wheels. its very easy. get a stage 4 or 5 port job on the blower and a good pulley combo with a boost a pump and you will be there. i did a LVL 5+ port with 2.76 upper and a 2 pound lower with supporting mods and am around the 540rwhp mark.
go to Stiegemeier Supercharger Porting, Rebuild, and Repair

550-600 for $2000? not a chance. My supporting mods for handling 600 rwhp was over 2K alone. Even a properly setup nitrous build will cost you more that 2K.

Is the car bone stock? cause 03/04 cobra came with 6 spds only.

OP, Ported eaton/upper only with a BAP, MAFia, Intake, Handheld and tune will run just a little over $2000.00. Thats going to give you 500 +/- RWHP. Also you should start saving for a clutch aswell, It won't last as long with those mods. Also some DR's too, on street tires these cars are hard to hook. Also any time you up the boost on these cars an IRS brace IS a MUST.

id suggest not doing anything with stock blower. maybe not even pully.. save up for whipple 3.4/kb 2.8 or.. Hp twin 57/62s.... not worth the money getting steigy porting..

edit: ALL Stock numbers that the factory says.. in cobras case 390/390.. are from the crank.. stock cobra should be around 330-340... just like 07-09shelbys.. rated 500/500.. all they have is like 430 wheel dyno.. dont let these fool you until you get it up on the dyno.

Stock cobra's were under rated and dyno'd more like 350- 380 whp.

To build anything you suggested would be quadruple the $2000 budget the OP stated. To tell the OP to save up an extra $6000 and build a 700-800 rwhp car is a little ridiculous don't you think? A pulley or even a port is well worth the money considering the gains that are made.

Stock RWHP on an 03/04 cobra is much higher than 340. My car made 410 rwhp with a flowmaster catback and everything else stock down to the filter.

Steig porting is very efficient. Along with the right pulley setup, intake, cai, irs beef up. . . You can build one hell of a street machine pushing well over 500RWHP safely to the ground. It will cost you more like 3,000-3500. . . But still, that much HP for 3,000? That's one heck of a deal. If you do plan on making more power in the future, then yeah. Skip the steig port and save for a whipple/kb/turbo setup. But if your like me and just want a powerful street/track car then a steig might be for you also.

lol read my 1st original post. i gave him mods he can get in a 2000$ budget and mods he can get if he saved if he was planning on making decent power. its all personal preferance imo no need to get defensive mustang brother im just throwing my .02 in. that is that steig porting isnt worth the money. your better off saving the cash and getting somthing more worth the money and with a higher max. porting only goes so far, oh yeah if your car made 410wheel with a flowmaster catback. id go over the car again. all factory numbers are to the crank not wheel. im guessing when i say 340. its definatly lower than factory rated 390/390

edit: ok daboyho50 gave us the #s 350-380.. definatly not 390.. your car is a mutt if it has 410 with a catback.

Ported Blowers are well worth the 400 bucks to do them. All the supporting mods are the same as a Twin screw. so it is just a matter of swapping blowers and selling the ported unit and getting most of your money back when it is time to go bigger.

And why should I go over the car again when it made 410 with a catback? That is exactly what the average is, maybe a bit higher. I think you need to read up on 03/04 cobras a bit more before giving your ".02". I own the car and have done the ported eaton and a whipple with great gains from both. I know what these cars put down for RWHP stock, I don't need daboyho50 to "give us the numbers" it is anywhere from 360-390+. Which puts my car right in the norm with 20+/- gain with the catback. What do you mean by my car is a mutt? 410 rwhp is about 460 crank. which is way higher than the "factory" rating.

Everything i've read, the car can make 360 to 380rwhp, average for most 03-04 Cobra's. 390HP at the crank is what Ford claimed but when these cars hit the streets and people took them to a dyno and it spit out 360-380+ rwhp, everyone knew that Ford underrated these cars. They love mods, and simple mods can get the rwhp climbing. I'm also for the port job, but with the stage 4, not to sure about the 5 (cost per a few more ponies than the stage 4) with the mafia or sct maf, possible fuel injectors or bap, possible fuel pumps, dyno tune and so on will be over $2K.
If you have 2K, i would buy a used whipple or KB, put it to the side and keep saving for the supporting mods, or just get a upper and lower pulley, cai, TB, maybe ported plenum, mid pipe and catback, with a tune and call it a day. should be around the 460rwhp + or -, all cars are different.
My 03 Cobra will be shipped from TN to ID 2morrow and i'm pretty stoked about it since i miss my car.
