New guy, Few ?'s 96 cobra svt

just bought an immaculant SVT 96 cobra, 32 valve 4.6L Stock. has plugs and 8mm wires. all maintanence done, has catback exhaust, and lowered. new wheels and tires very clean, tranny has been rebuilt with 4'10 gears.and clutch w/ hertz short throw. new to the mustang world, dad had a 66. What are some power adders that wouldnt cost more than a grand?? also are there any clubs or meets i could join?? any help!!?!?

Sounds like you got a assume deal. I have a 67 cougar with a built 289 in it and it has broken the engine mounts 2 times and the Trans mission 2 times to say it has some power. The 4.6L 4V motor is just a assume piece of engineering I cannot believe the power in makes with so few cubes. But welcome and have fun with your new toy.

thanks, yes the test drive blew me away! its mean, how hard would it be to supercharge it??

Really the motor is built like a Sherman tank. But I have been think not to S/C mine I have been reading some people that have some problems with doing it( motor coming apart )So I’m in the I don’t know mode! I’m going to put some gears in and a new Trans (the stock ones a piece of Sh*t) maybe a set of cams (4 of them) and see how it runs from there. Any ones input would be great.

yes, i couldnt imagine this car without the new gears, i lucked out there. lol i will do that then, do you know if doing cams requires any head work??

Guessing at least new springs ( I know I would put new one’s in) but ‘t got some miles on it. I would think about new valves gears and chain water pump you got it open replace it!. you have 4:10's how do you like them?

You've got most of the cheap bolt-ons. . . For less than a grand you could do a decent nitrous kit. . After all is said and done probably a grand. Don't know too much about it though to be honest.

yhanks daboyho, and snake, the 4'10s are wonderful,you can start off in 2nd, and save gas, but first is a powerful gear, almost to much, i have yet figured out how to get it to grab. lol she loves to spin!
